About ‘The Show’ by Niall Horan

Niall Horan used to be a part of One Direction but since 2016 (Directioners know what I mean) he has launched three solo albums. The Show is the third one that came out last Friday and I’d like to talk about this record today.

At first let me give you all solo album titles. And you know, feel free to check it all out! It’s an acoustic pop music, just pop sometimes and some tracks may remind you of pop-rock One Direction vibes.

  1. Flicker (2017),
  2. Heartbreak Weather (2020),
  3. The Show (2023).

The Show is promoted by three single by now: Heaven, Meltdown and The Show. I love these songs, honestly! I have already talked about two previous… The title track is totally different. It’s more acoustic than Heaven and Meltdown and it’s much deeper in my opinion. And this music video perfectly expresses the meaning of the song. Just check it out!

I must also mention that this man is Irish. I believe that it’s possible to hear folk accents in some songs in his discography. That’s why this artist is musically even more interesting in my opinion.

Alright! Check out The Show now! And I will say few words about things that I believe are worth mentioning then. And about my favorite songs, of course!

The reason why it’s worth to mention few tracks is the similarity of the beat and instrumentals to One Direction songs from the last 5th album – Made In The A.M... And these songs are also beautifully made… I mean I can hear in them how much work it had to cost to put it all together. Also, this music is angelic because of harmonies and the theme. Okay, so what songs I talk about here? If You Leave Me (sounds of the last chorus minds me of One Direction music), Never Grow Up (pay attention to the intro & ontro), Save My Life (the production had to take so much time), On A Night Like Tonight (musically it sounds like One Direction to me; who wrote I Want to Write You a Song or Hey Angel? Maybe not Niall but the reference is so clear to me). And of course Heaven and Meltdown – angelic theme & angels singing in the background. I hope you know what I mean. The motive of heaven is also a part of On A Night Like Tonight. And well, Must Be Love sounds angelic to me as well and I can hear it’s not totally a simple song… Chorus may simple like that but I’m sure you won’t produce a song like this in just 24 hours!

My favorite songs are definitely Heaven, Meltdown, You Could Start A Cult and On A Night Like Tonight. I love romantic songs so I had to fall in love with these songs hard, you know.

What about you? Share your favorite songs with me, don’t be shy!

Today that’s all. The next post is coming on Thursday and this time it won’t be about Riverdale. I’d like to share photos that I have taken by the way of coming to my mother’s hometown after 4 years. There was a pandemic and then it was forbidden to go in the border area while my grandmother’s house in just 3 km away from the border with Belarus. It used to be just a forest planted in a line and now there is also a wall… Anyways, I will show you photos taken in my grandmother’s garden, in Tykocin (there is a castle) and Augustów (lakes). Podlasie (one of regions of Poland) is beautiful, you’ll see!

Greetings!

A.A.
