Today post is about the land where my mom was born. If you could picture my fifth book Forest Tales… This is how it would look like! I will show you photos of the castle in Tykocin, my grandma’s garden, woods, meadows and the Augustów Canal. This region is like the second home to me and I hope you’ll love it as much as I do!

This is a private castle in Tykocin. It was discomposed brick by brick in 18th century and in 2004 it started to be rebuilt. Going strong almost my whole life and it looks like the work is almost done!
It’s a very interesting story… Kings used to come here in 16th and 18th centuries and it was a silent witness of the Swedish Deluge (one of incidents that took place during the Swedish-Polish wars in 17th century). It’s a very interesting place where you could learn more about the history of this building.
You can go to the museum there, go to the restaurant to have a magnificent dinner made of regional products and there is a castle hotel as well.
I honestly recommend visiting Tykocin but there is much more to see! Not only the castle! It used to be a town where mainly Jews lived so there are some really old objects related to that but not only. I also recommend going to Korycin to taste those famous cheeses… Or the Kiermusy with those characteristic wooden houses, European bison preserve or the Museum of Weapon that is placed in a creepy castle… It’s giving me The Witcher vibes when I think about it… Also, you need to see Pentowo which is a European Stork Village. You haven’t seen more nests in one place, I can assume!
Ok so now let me shows you… Some random forests and meadows!

…And flowers in gardens!

And now let me show Augustów. It’s mainly known for lakes. You can see one of them and the canal below. And that wooden house is the museum of the Augustów Canal. I honestly recommend the cruise or finding a beach, in other words the safe place to swim… I used to do it a lot when I was a child! Ahh happy days…

So, today it is all. The next post will be soon. It will be a post about Polish books and epoques… You know, I made such two videos about it two years ago and now it’s time to give you the written version of it… If you’re not subscribing my blog yet, then do it now if you don’t want to miss it!
See ya then!
