Today is one of those days that brought a lot of new music and I’ve already said it many times and today I’d like to show you what I mean. It’s going to be my own type of musical news.
First of all, let me introduce you to new Laura Marano’s song Boundaries. You can find the song and video below. Honestly, if I could choose who played the main role in the movie based on my novel (click here to learn more), I wish this actress played my Laura. And Arrow and Boundaries could be playing in the background… I mean these two songs are a perfect match for my story! How could it happen?
When it comes to the video, it reminded me of Irresistible by Fall Out Boy & Demi Lovato. I mean the idea of the shop and dolls is similar and the rest is totally different. You can compare both videos and see differences and similarities. I mean this is what comparative studies do. You simply compare two products of culture (cultural texts), take any characteristic you want and do a research to see what you find. I’ve used the comparative method in my master’s thesis and I really loved it. I want people to know this method and have a little fun with it.
It’s been 7 years and I feel like Demi Lovato hasn’t changed a thing… I had to say it! I mean rock spirit never dies and has always been there in fact…
Alright, the second song now. It’s Bad Thing by Jesy Nelson. I think I have never heard a song like this. It’s so different, so fresh, so OMG! Just check it out below. Oh, and it’s the second solo song by the woman who used to be a part of Little Mix. In case you don’t know!
The music video will premiere in 4h, I mean at 4 P.M. CET. I’ll be watching, of course!
The next thing to present to you is the double release from Kelly Clarkson. Mine/Me are songs promoting the upcoming album called Chemistry that will be released on 23rd June. I don’t know about you but I’m very excited. She has such an amazing strong voice! And there wasn’t any new music for a while…
The next song is a wedding track from George Sheppard entitled Feels Like Home. It’s so beautiful and romantic! Just give it a listen:
I’ve been writing about Sheppard, Australian band, not a long ago… Yes, it’s one of those band members…
The last thing to share is The Feeling of Falling Upwards (Live from The Royal Albert Hall) by 5 Seconds of Summer. I loved watching the show in September and you can find the post about it and 5SOS5 here. I’m so happy that this live album came out. I wanted more and it will totally do!
And the performance of Youngblood is the last part of this post full of my personal musical news. I hope you enjoyed it and maybe found your new favorite song…
When it comes to me, I always listen to new material five times before I realize if I like it or not. It’s about my fav artists, of course. When I have something stuck in my head during the period of five days or wish to listen to it one more time in one day… It’s a sign that it’s my cup of tea. Right now it’s too early to say if any of these new songs are my new favs… Probably only George Sheppard’s song made my heart melt for a reason today but it’s only 12 PM. It can still change and anything else will join the podium of my heart until midnight… You never know! But honestly, I love all these tracks I wrote about today.
Alright. It’s all today. Tomorrow post will be about films and series and it’s going to be made of 13 titles…
Greetings!
AA
