I spent the last three days of August in Wrocław. It was the best way to celebrate the release of my new book, right?!
So, it was my second time in this city! And this time I definitely saw more than last year, but I also know there’s still more to see one day! Maybe next year…? Who knows!
Wrocław is a pretty city that is even older than Warsaw, so it’s full of very old buildings. It’s also very naturally beautiful because of the rivers and canals! That’s why Wrocław is called “Polish Venice”… Honestly, it feels like the mix of Gdańsk, Kraków and Poznań…
Well, let me tell you now what I saw there now!
Town Hall

It’s a very beautiful town hall, indeed, but you can also check it out from the inside, and that’s what I recommend doing, too! They also have pretty cool bags in the store…
‘Mr Tadeusz’ Museum

It’s a very special museum where you can find the manuscript of one of Adam Mickiewicz’s books. It’s a pretty building, and it’s bigger than it seems! Like… There are three exhibitions in general! One is about the poet Tadeusz Różewicz. It made me want to buy his poetry book because it reminded me that I liked his poetry during my studies… Well, it may also make you want to rest a bit!
So, it was the first day! And all these places are nothing but the Old Town!

It’s pretty there, right?
The second day now!
University Church

Baroque churches are very special, right? That’s why they are always first on my list!
The Oder River

There are two parts of the same river and a few smaller tributaries that flow into the Oder in Wrocław. I think I wanna go for a cruise the next time… Somehow these views remind me of Gdańsk and Augustów, you know?!
Ossolineum

There, in the old school, were the temporary exhibitions, and, you know, it was about Ossolineum. That’s the library created 200 years ago! It was this kind of guy, like Izabela Czartoryska… You know, the collector, but this time it’s about priceless books… There’s no permanent exhibition yet, so I will definitely need to visit Ossolineum in a new place one day…
Museum of Architecture

This museum is located in the old Bernardine monastery and church. You definitely need to see it if you love architecture or such old, fascinating places… Kinda feels like Middle Ages, right?!
And now let me show you the Goldola Bay! I really wanted to see it last year, and this time I could finally see it! Yay!

The red building is the National Museum I visited last year. Crazy how close I was to this place, and I had no idea what I missed!

There’s also a park and the river in this area! And now you understand why I want to go back there next year again, right?
Alright, the last day now!
Ostrów Tumski

Just like Poznań or Paris, the oldest heart of the city is located on the islands! It was a bit colder and rainy on my last day in Wrocław, but I’m still happy I could go for a walk there. Also, there are many churches! I definitely have to go back there, though…
My new video about this trip is the last thing about it noow. Feel free to watch it below.
So, that’s all for now!
Love, A.A.
