French Poetry, pt. 3

Another French poem is waiting for you here today! This time it’s going to be ‘L’automne danse’, which means ‘Dancing Autumn’ in English.

It comes from my debut, ‘Once Upon a Time There Were Two Poetry Books…’. In French that’s ‘Il était deux volumes de poésie…’. And this time it’s a poem from the second chapter of Vol. 1 ‘For Him’. In French, it’s ‘Pour lui’.

I translated the first three titles today, and I decided that the autumn one is the right one for publishing today! I use my Polish version as a basis, but in this case, it looks more like the English version because that very last metaphor is pretty long! I decided to add the 4th line just like I did for the English version…

So, at first let me give you the English version.

*

Dancing Autumn

Gray clouds above the bloody town

The world seems to be so blue

Some trees are ashamed

*

Take my hand and dance with me

Our fiery dance in the rain

Just like leaves dripping lava

And we dance on it

*

Now I can show you my very fresh French translation! It’s below.

Well, I think it was quite a simple one in general! But don’t be shy to suggest your changes. Just comment to let me know what you think!

*

L’automne danse

Nuages gris sur la sanglante ville

Le monde semble si bleu

Certains arbres sont embarrassés

*

Prends ma main et danse avec moi

Notre danse enflammée sous la pluie

Comme des feuilles dégoulinantes de

Lave sous nos pieds

*

So, that’s all today! I will drop this whole chapter later on Patreon, so I recommend subscribing even today! ‘Great Lady’s Diary’ and Poetry Lover is the tier where you can find it!

Now I also recommend checking out my store! It’s time to start your early Black Friday shopping, you know! There are some items (hoodies, pants, and the bundle) on sale now!

Until the next time and greetings!

Love, A.A.
