New chapter is here! It gets tragic and funny this time! Enjoy!

1st December 2014
Dear Diary,
I have news. Well, Joe forgave his beloved fake death. I don’t know how, but yep, he did. He forgave her… And the worst is the fact that the boy is happy now, like I have never seen him before. It seems to me that there might even be children out of this… I’m afraid I’ve lost my chance forever… Simply great…
Let’s go back to the story. I guess that memories is all I got left now…
*
I woke up next to Jack. The blond was still asleep and held my hand in sleep. We were both naked.
Those things that happened last night… Wow. I didn’t think that it all could ever happen. But honestly… I didn’t regret it. But there’s also a problem… I didn’t love him at all. I was with Joe in my mind the whole time. It’s only him that I love in a real deep way… So why was I lying there next to Jack then? Okay, I don’t know. I was a bit lost, apparently… Maybe I needed a comfort a little too much… Maybe I wanted to forget about this unhappy love… I enjoyed being with Jack from the very beginning but it was never love… Then what was it? Escape from myself into the arms of another man?
I looked at the boy’s calm face. The pale morning light filtered through the window, and it was admiring his face as much as me. This sight impressed me, as did the whole person of this boy. I didn’t think he had been through so much. And he was only twenty then… Maybe he just impressed me… Maybe I just needed an admirer like him… I don’t know.
“Maybe I should give this relationship a chance and once and for all forget about Joe? But… You never forget your first love… Is it all one big mistake…? What shall I do?!” – I was thinking frantically while looking at his impressive muscles.
Suddenly, the blond’s eyelids twitched, and his beautiful brown irises showed to the world. He looked at me with love in those beautiful eyes. Such different eyes from Joe’s… But more like mine…
– Good morning, Laura. Did you sleep well? – he asked, looking concerned.
– Excellent – I admitted truthfully.
He got closer to me and put a kiss on my lips.
– If you want to, we can repeat what we did last night – he rakishly smirked at me.
Before I could answer, Samantha barged into my territory. “Gosh! Kill me, please!” – I thought.
– Laura… – she stopped when she saw us. She looked surprised and left without a word.
– You know… Better not… Dress quickly and get out the window! – I urged him.
– It started getting so nice… – he got sad a little, but he obediently got out of bed and began to collect his things. Then he started putting them on. Me too.
– Oh, I’m sorry. My parents simply can’t find out about all of this – I hastily explained to him while getting dressed.
– What do you mean? – he asked, looking at me furtively.
– About us. I’m talking about us. I don’t want them to know we slept together.
– I’m actually happy about that… – he gave me his sweet smile.
I felt my heart begin to melt. Such a smile like this should have special warning signs… “Put yourself together, Laura…” – I had to remind myself in my mind.
Once we were ready, I helped Jack to go through the window. He went down the branch of the tree and looked towards the window, and blew me a kiss. Then he disappeared. I felt like Juliet… Romeo must have been blond…
“Time to get out of the tower for breakfast!” – I thought. I headed towards the door, smiling. I grabbed the handle and saw my sister. She stood with her mouth wide open and looked panicked.
– Sam? Everything’s okay? – I walked over to her and grabbed her hand.
– My dream is coming true… Too bad… I didn’t think you and Jack…
– Calm down… And don’t tell our parents about what you saw – I lowered my voice.
– It was a dream about the future… Oh, God…
She fell to the ground white like a paper. So suddenly…
– Samantha! Mom, dad! Help!
I knelt next to her and started screaming in panic. “What’s happening? What dream was she talking about?! Wait… Is it about the dream she had yesterday…?” – I was wondering in the meanwhile.
Our parents came and took care of her. Everything was happening in slow motion. I was watching, stunned, when dad was giving her a heart massage. Mother called an ambulance in the meantime.
It wasn’t a normal loss of consciousness; it was a heart attack! How is it possible that such a young girl could have heart problems so suddenly…? After all, she’s never had any serious illnesses… Is it possible that just stress can lead to cardiac arrest…?
All I could do was sit against the wall and think and stare blankly at it. All I could hear in my ears was a wild squeal that I had no idea where it was coming from.
*
I was sitting in the corridor of the hospital. Alone. My parents had to go to work, so… It was the middle of the school year, after all… And they work as teachers… Samantha was lying in the room, and the doctors were taking care of her. They were pinning all those tubes and machines to her. And I was going to go to the airport in an hour to say goodbye to Joe and the rest of the Silver Trills…
A nurse came out of the room where my sister was. I rushed over to her.
– What about Samantha? – I asked using a trembling voice. The woman looked at the patient’s chart.
– Miss Samantha is in stable condition. She’s already awake and asking for you. Please come in – she smiled kindly at me.
After saying these words, the nurse walked away. I watched her walk away and looked at the door behind which was my sister. I opened them with trembling hands and stepped inside. Sam’s pale figure appeared before my eyes. I quietly approached her. Her eyes were closed. I felt a single tear rolling down my cheek. Like right on cue, her eyes opened up, and she looked at me. She started crying too.
– Laura… My dear sister… Come here to me – she said weakly. I obediently sat on the corner of her bed and hugged her.
– Why did you feel bad so suddenly? I know you dreamed about the future, but what exactly did you see? – I started asking questions without thinking… The girl moved away from me.
– I had a dream yesterday… It was very realistic, and images were moving at an accelerated rate like in a movie. The beginning of this dream was that you and Jack… It came true, and I was terrified. If it continues like this, then… I’ll lose you. Few people will die… This is a nightmare… – she rubbed her eyes with a hand.
– Do you think this dream will come true?
– It’s already happening, Laura… – she looked at me sadly. – Okay. You’d better go now. I don’t want you to be late for the last meeting with friends at the airport. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine – she gave me a gentle smile.
– Well, as you wish – I kissed her forehead and headed towards the exit. Before I left, I turned around to look at her one more time.
It was the moment when I noticed that this room wasn’t as tiny as I had thought when I first entered. White walls, a bed, and specialized equipment. And the window through which the noonday light was filtering in. And that specific smell…
I smiled radiantly at my sister to reassure her. So did she. I went to the corridor then.
“Time to go to the airport” – I thought after looking at the clock on my phone. I was going ahead the hospital corridor fast.
*
I was sitting alone in the departure hall. It was 3rd February 2014. I was looking at my nails. I really liked that orange colour…
I looked around. An airport. A very normal airport. Nothing special. People were rushing everywhere, and that’s it. I still couldn’t find the band. But Sindy was hurrying towards me. Not alone. Brian walked beside her, smiling as usual.
– Laura! – they shouted at the same time. They were happy to see me. I got up and gave them a group hug.
– You look amazingly good today! – my friend praised me. I smiled at her.
– Thanks. But I have bad news… – I started and instantly became sad.
– What happened? A UFO kidnapped Samantha, and that’s why she didn’t come? – the black-haired boy looked saddened.
– No? Sam is in the hospital. She had a heart attack at home today, but she’s fine now – I looked pityingly at him.
It was sad to talk about what had happened, but I also knew that they should know.
– Poor… We must go to her today – the blonde said and looked meaningfully at our friend.
– Of course… I can see the vending machine with jellybeans! – he yelled and ran, hopping to the machine.
– That’s our Brian… But you know… I must tell you something, Sindy.
The girl raised one eyebrow up seeing my extremely serious face.
– I’m scared of what I’m about to hear then…
– So… I spent the night with Jack – I confessed.
Her eyes grew as big as saucers, but the words I heard weren’t hers at all…
– You slept with Jack?
I turned around to see the shocked Joe. I didn’t notice him approaching us. “Oh… No way…” – I thought.
– Joe? Is it really you? Already here…? – I barely uttered these words. I was just afraid of what was about to happen…
– Could you answer my question? – he asked this question with unusual seriousness.
– Well, I don’t know how it happened, but yeah, it’s true… – I looked at my shoes while saying this, but then looked up and I added: – Are you angry?
– No. I’m not. It’s just a little… I’m just surprised – he scratched his head without looking at me. – If I remember it well, we didn’t really break up, and we do what we do… Hmm…
– Well… You’re probably right… – I felt a little sorry.
– I don’t think we can make this work. It’s over, Laura. Because look… You have Jack, and I have Alice. It’s no use pretending we’ll be together again someday. I don’t believe in it – he looked me straight in the eyes while saying it.
– But will we still be friends…? – I asked hopefully.
– Sure – he smiled, and I smiled back. – Can we hug now?
I chuckled at this, and I hugged him.
*
Ten minutes later, everyone said goodbye to everyone. Some people were even crying. I mainly mean Brian… Because he was literally bawling…Yep… He was literally crying more and more each minute… We all felt very sorry for him because we know that he loves his friends very much…
Shortly after saying goodbye, the band started walking towards the plane, and after a while, I witnessed how the plane soared up into the air. “I’m going to miss them…” – I thought when the plane became a tiny dot in the sky.
– So, what are we doing now? – Sindy asked.
– I wanted to go to Sam to the hospital – I answered.
– Do any of you have a tissue? – tearful Brian asked.
I quickly took one out of my purse and handed it to our friend. He blew his nose loudly into it, and I smiled slightly.
– Me and Brian will go with you. Right, buddy? – she asked the black-haired boy with the handkerchief in his hands. He nodded.
– But my name is Brian, not Maddy… – he protested after a moment. The girl rolled her eyes at this.
– Okay, I’ll call a cab – I said.
I took my phone out of my pocket and dialled the number. While talking, I was watching our friend. He walked over to throw the used tissue into the dumpster. There was a machine nearby… On the way back to us, he took two steps back and swung his head around, and smiled at the machine. He gracefully approached it, and after a moment, he was next to us with his prey in his hands.
– Jelly? – he asked, putting a big smile on his face.
Our dear Brian in all his glory… This was the second pack already… I looked at Sindy. She shrugged and took one. So did I.
– Thank you and goodbye – I said into the phone, hung up, and put a jellybean into my mouth. – We’ll have a ride in ten minutes.
– Then let’s go slowly to the exit – the blonde suggested.
And so we did, but… Our friend took it too literally because he started walking in slow motion. The girl looked at him like he was a madman.
– Ehmm. Brian. Sindy didn’t mean it – I tried to save the day.
– Fine – then he started behaving normally.
Shock, I know! But he really just didn’t want us to be too sad because Joe, Tay, Mike, Pete, and Harry had just flown to Europe. Right, Brian?
*
While driving, I looked out the window. From a distance, I noticed the familiar hospital building, and right on cue, the memory of the morning events came back. I was still thinking about Samantha’s words about the dream she had last night. I was curious what exactly she had dreamed about, what images it could’ve been. “Hmm, it’s all a bit strange and confusing…” – in the end, that’s all I could conclude from it.
Suddenly, the car stopped in front of the building. Sindy paid the driver for the ride. We chipped in earlier. Each of us, one by one, got out of the car. We started walking towards the hospital. None of us said a word.
We were just passing a flower shop when Brian stopped unexpectedly. Yep, I ran into him.
– Brian? Something happened? – I asked him, feeling a bit concerned.
– The flower shop – he announced excitedly. Sindy looked at him strangely…
– Yes, we know it’s a flower shop, but we don’t brag about it. We’re not stupid.
– But I just had an idea of buying flowers for Samantha before we go to the hospital… – he explained and looked a little sad.
– Aww, that’s cute. I think she would be pleased with your gesture – I tried to comfort him.
– I’ll go buy her a bouquet – he smiled instantly and headed towards the entrance to the flower shop. Before he even went through the door, he turned to Sindy, and said: – I don’t like it when people take me for a fool… – Then he went inside. It was obvious that his friend’s reaction hurt him.
– You know what, Sindy? You’re exaggerating a bit – I said to the girl, and she breathed out loudly.
– I see it now… I should apologize to him, I know… – I saw the repentance painted on her face.
– Three points for you – I touched her arm.
The blonde smiled slightly at me, and I smiled back.
Suddenly, Brian left the store and came back to us. In his hands, he held a small, beautiful bouquet of red roses. He was delighted.
– Sindy would like to tell you something – I started when we saw him next to us.
The girl, hearing my words, stood a bit closer to him and looked him straight in the eye. And it was difficult because she’s even shorter than me and he’s tall like a skyscraper…
– I’m sorry, Brian. I should have behaved differently and not insulted you like this… – she spoke from the heart. It wasn’t hard to notice.
– Nothing happened. I forgive you – he smiled at her, and she did the same.
Suddenly, he threw the bouquet in my direction. I barely managed to catch it… And he did it to hug our dear friend. It looked so sweet!
– Aww. How sweet… – it slipped out of my mouth…
But they didn’t even move. After a while, they stopped hugging, and I pushed the bouquet of flowers back into the boy’s hands. He looked at me, surprised with an inquiring look.
– Oh, nothing… Let’s go – I chuckled.
I headed towards the hospital. My friends followed me.
*
We’ve reached the door of Samantha’s hospital room. We were able to visit her without any problems, as the nurse informed us. I spoke to her at the front desk earlier. I opened the door, and my friends followed me in one by one.
– Hi Sam. How are you? – I greeted my sister. She was happy to see us.
– Good. I may be out of the hospital tomorrow. After you left, I spoke to the doctor.
– Good to know. And anyway, why are you here exactly? – Sindy asked.
– My heart stopped beating for a moment this morning, but it’s no big deal – she replied calmly.
Brian made a strange sound at these words, and Sam instantly found herself in the arms of the boy. By the way, he gave her flowers a moment later.
– You were one step away from death! How can you say it’s no big deal! By the way, this bouquet is for you – he was a little nervous about the whole situation and stuff…
– Oh, thank you. It’s beautiful – she inhaled the delicate scent of flowers. Brian blushed a little at her words and stood against the wall. – And don’t worry about me. Everything’s fine… – she was thoughtful for a moment, then she added: – Laura. I must tell you something… You must be careful. In every possible way… Have you seen Jack yet? Are you together now?
– Slow down, sister, because I can’t keep up… – I sat on the corner of her bed. – You know… Me and Joe officially broke up today. And when it comes to Jack… Maybe I’ll meet him later and we’ll discuss it…
– You seem very happy somehow… – she concluded after staring at me intrusively for a moment.
– Well… Sort of – I laughed.
I had the impression that something had changed and there’s no turning back… The feeling that a certain chapter of my life has just ended. It was a feeling as strong as a breath of fresh air, but it affected not only me but also my loved ones… It was only a moment, but I knew I couldn’t ignore it…
Anyway… The four of us talked like that for an hour, but in the end, the hospital staff literally threw us out the door.
“I wonder what Hoops and Hoods are doing in the plane at this time…” – I thought when we left the hospital. Probably everyone somehow tried to survive in their own way this mercilessly long journey across the ocean…
*
Sometimes you must write a little more boring stuff to make the whole thing meaningful… I don’t know what I’m going to write next, but… Oh, wait, I know! I will describe what was happening in LA the day after the first concert of Silver Trills on tour (I mean in Poland). That’s it. It’s definitely going to be more interesting than this note, diary. I promise.
When it comes to Samantha’s health… It turned out that she was diagnosed when she was in the hospital that she has a small heart defect that hadn’t been detected before. Since then, Sam can’t overwork, get nervous, and she has to remember about her heart medication. But it’s not as tragic as it may seem at first glance. Doctors say that it shouldn’t affect the quality and length of her life, but she must remember about her illness. But doctors also say that it’s a miracle that she survived a heart attack in those circumstances… It doesn’t happen too often in such cases…
Well… That’s all for today.
P.S. “Don’t believe in things you see. Trust your heart”.
“I mean, don’t hastily believe things some people say or write. It’s important not to get carried away and stay calm. It’s important to listen to the voice of the heart that knows best,” – Alice’s words.
I hope that’s understandable… Just don’t judge the book by its cover. Sometimes people don’t notice the obviousness that you just literally only had to notice. This quote also fits a bit into this whole situation with my sister’s health, so I decided that this is how I will end today’s writing.
Until the next time! Now for sure! I know I always extend our goodbyes, diary!
