This year’s Eurovision was a bit scandalous, right? But it was full of good music too! So, today I’d like to sum it up a bit.
I have loved Eurovision for many years, so it’s hard to say when I heard about this song contest for the first time… But honestly, it feels like forever!
I have already told you last year, but let me tell you why I love it again – because it’s funny, super serious and multicultural. All at once.
But well… This year was not only music. At first some people didn’t agree with decision to include the artist from Israel in the contest who got 5th place in the end. Then, we didn’t see Europapa in the Grand Final – the love song about Europe… Because the artist was disqualified for threatening one of crew members… In the end some people didn’t agree with the most important result – Nemo with The Code became the winner. Baby Lasagna and Rim Tim Tagi Dim got second place and the Ukrainian song Teresa & Maria by alyona alyona and Jerry Heil was third. The last thing to add is about breaking the statuette into two parts because the winner was so happy… What a year!
This is year I have the playlist made of songs I liked the most as well. You can check it out below. And I think there may be few songs that will get popular later this year… But it always happens, so it’s obvious!
If you’d like to see performances to these songs too, then you can find them on YT. It’s all below (first semi-final, second semi-final and the great final).
So, that’s all today. The next blog post is coming on Wednesday. Because it’s a podcast kind of day, you know!
Love, A.A.
