The Power Of Tradition

The power of tradition is really strong when it starts in your family… Today’s post will be about traditions, and it was inspired by daily prompts from the last month.

The most of traditions that I can think of are always related with holidays – Christmas, Easter or Fat Thursday which happened yesterday. It’s all about celebrating the last day of carnival and you eat as many donuts as you can. After that the fast starts. Some traditions are also related with changing seasons like the Marzanna drowning to say goodbye to winter or visiting cemeteries on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day that is happening after Halloween. These traditions have a pagan roots but their meaning is Christian now.

The most personal and different type of traditions that can be called a family one is about celebrating birthdays or the Name Days. You can throw a party, just get presents, go to restaurants or anywhere you like, and it’s your very own tradition… I like going to restaurants on my birthday, and I always have a birthday cake when I go home. I get presents for my birthday and my Name Day. That’s my little family tradition, and I can’t think of anything else…

Tradition is the part of each countries culture, and it’s always the strongest when celebrating it starts at home. There is no way to kill the tradition then because what is happening at home is also what is happening in your heart and soul… At least I really think so!

Do you have any interesting family traditions? I’d love to hear about it! Do any other traditions come to your mind except those mentioned by me? Don’t be shy, remind me!

Another post is coming on Monday, and it will be about donating. It’s a bit connected with today’s post as well! Well, you’ll see what I mean on Monday…

Love, A.A.
