The Best Of One Direction

Hello! Some of you know that I’ve liked One Direction since 2012, and if you wanna feel younger or show it to your children – this one’s for you! Because today I will share my fav songs by this band.

I’ve created a playlist with songs that remind me of live shows some time ago, and I’ve added there few of my favorite songs, and this way the idea for this post appeared. So, feel free to check it out below and then I will say few words about these songs. And yes, it’s a chronological order.

I’ve chosen two songs from the first record Up All Night (2011) because these were singles, and I simply love these songs the most. What Makes You Beautiful is their first big hit and the first single. Also, Harry Styles sang it last year in Kraków and this year in Warsaw. I guess he feels nostalgic about it just like me, because it was the first song that I heard, so yes, I’ve been a Directioner from the very beginning! I mean 2012 before the second record came out, but there was the news that was gonna appear soon already then…

The second song is One Thing. I love this song but I also recommend to check out the music video. It’s one of my favs, and it’s so funny!

The first record is a typical pop album while the second one truly got my heart! It was the first album by One Direction that I was obsessed with. Honestly, no song to skip and that’s why the first song Live While We’re Young is the only track on the playlist. It’s some kind of symbol of the whole thing, you know. But I also remember thinking that it was my fav one when Take Me Home (2012) came out…

If you’re a bit older, my dear reader, then I recommend next three records the most, because these were just my fav albums. It’s so rock, and it feels like guys truly got to write and perform music they loved the most. They could be finally honest and express the real themselves better than on previous two albums. I obviously mean Harry, Louis and Niall. Because their solo records simply sound the same to me, you know. I mean it’s like the continuation of something that has began in 2013 with Midnight Memories. I’ve added 5 songs from this record to my playlist: Best Song Ever, Story Of My Life, Midnight Memories, You & I and Something Great. The first title was sang by fans before the show in Kraków (Harry Styles). A year later the part of this song made it to the setlist, so I guess it’s another symbol understood by fans and the artist the most…

The next record is Four (2014). You can find four songs from it on my playlist: Stockholm Syndrome, Night Changes, Where Do Broken Hearts Go, and Steal My Girl. First three songs were performed by Harry and Louis in Poland this year while the last one has a special place in my heart…

The last record Made In The A.M. (2015) is my favorite. This music seems to be more mature than previous albums, and it’s so good in many ways even though One Direction lost one member… I’m sure that the four of them could go on if they only wanted to, because this record is simply a proof of it… You can find 8 songs on my playlist because it’s my fav as I’ve already said… Them titles are: Drag Me Down, Olivia, I Want To Write You a Song, End of the Day, Never Enough, Infinity, What a Feeling and History.

I hope you like my Top 20! I’d like to do the same thing Taylor Swift songs one day, but it’s gonna be much harder, you know! It would be easier if there were only two or three records…

Update. There is the YT video now, and I talk about the idea of creating this kind of posts there. You can watch it here:

So, that’s it. The next post is coming tomorrow and it will be about the The Eras Tour Concert Film that I’ve seen yesterday.

Love, A.A.
