Today I can show you more photos taken in Kraków & Wieliczka in 2020. I hope you’ll love the second part of this throwback!
The next place that was one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever been to is the manufacture of the stained glass. I’ve learned about the process of making it out there, saw many effects of this beautiful form of art and I bought such a little pretty red heart as a souvenir…

This one is special because that’s the realization of the project made by Stanisław Wyspiański 100 years ago. And you know… I wrote my master’s thesis about his dramas…

It’s also Stanisław Wyspiański. This stained glass is entitled Apollo. That’s the copy of the original work that is placed in another place that was closed then in 2020…
The next place to show you is a town that is not too far from Kraków – Wieliczka. There is a very old salt mine that probably was visited by every Polish child… After all these years I wanted to go back there just for everything else and there is still a lot to see, you know.

This is the market square.

And this is the Saltworks Castle where people running the salt mines lived for centuries.

This park can be found next to the castle.

This is the salt mine entry.
Now let me show you some random places in Kraków. As I’ve said previously, it was the beginning of the pandemic and museums were closed so I simply spent so much time walking around.

And now let me show you the district called Kazimierz. In Middle Ages it was the second city placed on the other site of the river Vistula. Now it’s the part of Kraków and it’s a Jewish district.

It’s a good moment to tell you hello again!
The next place to show you is the barbican and the part of city walls as I promised in the previous post.

So, this is how it looked like centuries ago.

You can find such a chapel from Middle Ages built in city walls… I still find this idea intriguing but I guess it makes sense like… Let’s pray that we can defend the city and survive and stuff…

The last part of this today post is the Czartoryski Palace that is placed near to city walls. As I’ve mention before, it’s a place that you must visit when you come to Kraków for such reasons like Leonardo da Vinci or Rembrandt.

And this way I’m ending the second part of this throwback. More to come next week and you will see Royal Gardens then and more of Ojców National Park. Stay tuned!
Oh, and the next post is coming on Tuesday. It will be about new Carly Rae Jepsen’s record.
Greetings!
A.A.
