Today post about Riverdale got such an enigmatic title because I wanted it to rhyme (side effect of being a poet) and I feel like it’s what I need to talk about after watching the latest episode.
Boys & dreams are words that I used at the beginning and ending of the post title and to be honest… It’s just a one topic to me. Because the new episode is about male dreams, so different dreams, that belong to Archie and Reggie. They may seem the same but they are defined differently when it comes to things that they were born to do – sport and poetry. I must say this season change is really interesting! Archie The Musician sounded so natural in the modern world but what about the idea of Archie The Poet in 50s? I don’t know, honestly. It simply feels so fresh to me… How about you?
When it comes to Reggie… The love for cars was replaced by the sport in the first place this time but I feel like it’s what usually can be used to describe boys’ passion… So, in my opinion it’s not as much shocking as Archie The Poet (though I’m a poet as well!).
Now I need to say few things about girls… Saying this I think about Veronica & Betty. This friendship is so iconic but now we can start to wonder… Is it really just a friendship or something more? I feel like it’s too hard to decide yet. But yes, it’s totally normal that young people like to try everything to realize who they are. And that’s what the nurse’s daughter says so…
The last thing is the way mothers treated their daughters. Things that children of 50s and 60s knew are seen as pathological nowadays. Right now such mothers would have problems with law… My parents were born in 60s and they were born in the era of communism, in the world that still remembered the last war way too well so… It was a totally different world back then, you know. The more we are progressing as a Western society, the better people (and children) live. I’m just 25 years old but I also see the huge change! But honestly… It’s like there is a piece of something good and bad about the each historical era anyway…
At the ending I’d like to mention the effects of the car accident. Yeah, as a bonus not planned previously… In Poland people under 18 can’t have a driver’s license but it was and still is differently in other countries like USA. The law is about to change in Europe so drivers over 65 don’t cause more problems on streets but honestly… Statistics say that younger drivers are a real problem. So, if it was possible, I would tried to change it this direction… Because you know… Such a Julian wouldn’t have met with the coma then…
So, that’s it. The next post will be about the exposition that I’ve seen today. Ancient Egypt… So cool, you’ll see tomorrow!
Greetings!
