Eurovision 2023. The Great Final

Yesterday brought the Great Final of this year Eurovision and The Long Night of Museums. It was hard to be in two places at the same time but I made it somehow, you know! Well, I’d like to sum up the Eurovision 2023 in this post now.

So, who won 67th edition of Eurovision? Loreen with the song Tattoo! I must admit I love this song and I knew from the start that she’d win again. It’s such a powerful voice that I’m just speechless and the performance and song give me goosebumps each time I hear this song. I’m honestly so happy about it.

The second song and people’s choice is Cha Cha Cha by Käärijä. I knew he’d go far but I hadn’t expected it to end up on the 2nd place… I feel like this song is getting better each time I listen to it but the performance is nothing but funny… Is it the reason why so many people fell for it?

The 3rd place belongs to Unicorn by Noa Kirel. I love this song, this performance and everything about it is honestly nothing but good so I’m glad to see it here. And it wasn’t hard to see that people really like unicorns! I have one at home too but shhh, you haven’t heard it! Also, I arrived home and in front of the TV in the middle of this performance…

Ok, now I’d like to mention few performances that made me fall in love after the second listen. I can put here such titles like Who The Hell Is Edgar?, Samo mi se spava and Stay. I didn’t like it at first but now I do! It happened with Midnights by Taylor Swift too so it’s worth it to give things a second chance sometimes, you know!

I never listen to new songs that appear in the Great Final earlier because I want the performance to speak to me not just the song and I want to be surprised. This year I feel like all 6 songs were really good but I added to my playlist only four of them. That’s Évidemment, Heart of Steel, I Wrote A Song (I needed to listen to this track on Spotify today again) and Blood & Glitter. When it comes to Eaea, I liked this performance more. I mean I decided to delete it from my playlist after listening to this track again… Sometimes it happens, you know! And I know that Italian song Due Vite was 4th but I can’t force myself to feel it… Maybe that’s the lack of knowing Italian, I don’t know…

At the end I must say that I think that the Eurovision 2023 may bring few great hits like Queen of Kings. I honestly won’t be surprised to see few songs from here charting later this year. I also must mention Polish representation – Solo by Blanka. It makes my heart grow to see that people loved it enough to give it 8th place. National juries giving Poland so little points is nothing new so I will leave it without any comment.

So, you can listen to my playlist with my final proposition made of 25 songs below and feel free to check out more performances on YouTube if you’re still hungry!

Today that’s all. The next post will be about places that I went to last night and it will come out on Tuesday.

Greetings!

A.A.
