Today post will be about reasons why you can madly fall in love with Eurovision and songs from the second semi-final that are worth a minute of reflection. You can also find here the updated playlist with 7 new tracks.
I personally love Eurovision for uniting whole Europe (+Australia) by music. You can always meet with national languages, other cultures, different styles of music and that’s just beautiful. Despite all differences we’re in fact the same. The second reason why I love Eurovision is being funny. You can see here this kind of performances that sometimes are not about the amazing vocals or the song but about the message. You can sometimes see here such ridiculous things that you just can’t imagine that it was a serious choice of the nation. It’s like you wouldn’t see such things anywhere else! Well, if the meaning of the song is political… Then it’s clear that some people use this opportunity to speak out instead of competing in the contest… How about you guys? What do you love Eurovision for?
Alright, now let me show you my TOP 5.
Blanka – Solo
A lot of people were hating on this song in Poland but I believe it’s pretty good. I don’t see any similarities to the hit from 2018 by Clean Bandit & Demi Lovato. It hadn’t even come to my mind that it could be a plagiarism since I’m a big fan of Demi until somebody said so. It’s only the same title… And comparing it to other performances last night… It was definitely one of the best ones in my opinion. It was in fact the 3rd solo dance during the bridge this year but each choreography is always prepared a long before live concerts so it’s just a coincidence… Also, the way she pronounces English is nobody’s business and it’s just rude to call out such things publicly!
Brunette – Future Lover
The second song that is worth a separate paragraph is Future Lover by Brunette. Amazing sweet vocals and an amazing gentle song but it’s not so simple. And again, we have a solo dance scene here but whatever! It looks amazing here, right? Also, those pink visuals from the beginning look like a perfect music video material, I love this interesting dress and the transformation of the song can be described as… Lover turning to into reputation (Taylor Swift albums).
Alika – Bridges
What a song! It’s gentle and powerful at the same time! What a voice! Just… Wow! And that piano playing without anybody’s help?! Magic! And this song is also just like magic! It’s just a perfect match, you know!
Andrew Lambrou – Break A Broken Heart
This male voice is absolutely gorgeous and I love this song but I can’t help the feeling that we have here the melody that I heard before! But I can’t recall the title of the song, unfortunately… But however, I think this song is great anyway.
Joker Out – Carpe Diem
That’s a song that is sang in the band’s national language – Slovak but since Polish and Slovak are in the same family of languages, I have no difficulties with understanding what this song is about. It’s even funny and those costumes totally fit the message. A little bit Hippie. But really, this Latin sentence that is the title says it all. A very nice song and fun performance. Check it out!
Voyager – Promise
I love electric guitars and this song is very electric! At first I thought I wouldn’t like it but then it gets so energetic that it’s just impossible not to flow with it. Great way to close the competition.
Diljá – Power
This is the only song from my playlist that didn’t qualify. And honestly, I can’t understand why! It was a great powerful voice, beautiful song and the performance was simple but it can be good too… Sometimes nothing more than the singer needs to be on the stage. Honestly, strange things…
