The 7th episode made me want to write few personal words about writing and schools. The second part of the post will be about rebels, dancing, cinemas (movie theaters) and well… Crime.
The new episode of Riverdale reminds me about my high school days so I’ll get a little bit nostalgic and sentimental here today. Th scene where Betty is going through the school corridor smiling, everybody’s looking at her and the whole scene is shown in the slow motion… Well, it reminds me… Me! I started blogging and writing as a 15-year-old girl in Middle School but I kept doing it in the new school until the graduation in 2017. I was a part of the school newspaper redaction, I was a successful poet and I felt happy about my life and who I was for the first time in my life. I had many friends who were just like me and once I was walking down the main corridor in our school and I was all the time answering for their hellos. When I think about that time… It may seem like a overrated movie scene but it’s such a beautiful feeling when it’s real, you know.
Alright, I began with the digression today but now I will hold onto the series more. Let’s move to the rebellious part now… It’s normal that teenagers get disobedient when they’re seventeen. It’s just called growing up. And well, this new episode is the come back to roots because Riverdale has always been about growing up. We’ve all been the same. We all know how it feels when we want to change the world, start a revolution or just do whatever we want and not care about what parents say. It’s okay. It’s fine. One day will all will be adults and these feelings will turn into something bigger or we will just roll our eyes recalling all those things that we wanted when we were younger. But honestly, youth has always been changing everything with fresh ideas. When I look at the history or literature… It’s so clear. It’s so real. Betty is being rebellious this time and we’ll see where it’ll take her but I must say… Things ended for the Jughead quite well, right?
And let’s talk about dancing now. Well, being a rebel led to the dancing program… Who would think that dancing could ever be a punishment, right? Today we call people who like dancing professionals or party people and in 50s everything was so different! But let’s be honest, 70 years is a long time!
The last thing for me to mention is thread with the movie theater. Veronica decided to save Babilonium and well, it’s called fate no matter what era it is. And in the modern Riverdale Jug was the one who was trying to save the cinema. And who would think that after about 50 years of existence there would be such problems with surviving, right? It may be surprising because cinemas are a still living and breathing part of the film industry. I personally went there few times this year already. And well, Veronica was right, it really hits different to watch Avatar at home and Avatar: The Way of Water in the big dark room with the big screen… And this sound! You always relive it until the end of the day and sometimes even for few days…
Okay I also said crime at the beginning of the today post because… I feel that it might be the next episode theme but I’ll leave it like that now…
Alright! Tomorrow post will be about the second semi-final of Eurovision. I’m very curious if Poland makes it to the great final… The most of Poles believes that not but I think the song Solo by Blanka is not so bad to pour so much hate on it but it all depends on the live performance so let’s wait and see tonight…
Greetings!
