The last thing that I wanted to do to celebrate my birthday this year was going for the birthday party! And I absolutely had all that such parties require – singing happy birthday, balloons and the great fun full of dancing and singing… Ok, it was in half a joke and now let’s be serious and write the review of the show.
The Vamps is the pop-rock band made of 4 musicians: Brad Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball and Tristan Evans. They are celebrating 10 years of existence nowadays. In 2012 they formed the band, signed the contract and there is the discography with the most important records and EPs:
- Meet The Vamps (2014)
- Wake Up (2015)
- Night & Day (Night Edition) (2017)
- All Night EP (2017)
- Night & Day (Day Edition) (2018)
- Missing You EP (2019)
- Cherry Blossom (2020)
- 10 Years Of The Vamps (2022)
The show that I saw yesterday was special because this way the European leg of The Greatest Hits tour ended. It was also different because James couldn’t perform for health problems. I’ve known this band for 9 years so fans who have been here from the beginning were also celebrating hard last night.
So, what can I say about the show? Despite all odds, the band gave the best possible performance. There were two songs in the setlist that I actually don’t like but it couldn’t stop me from singing and dancing because it was such an energetic show! For me the worst nightmare is singing out of tune or using playback but after this show I can totally say that these guys are real musicians. I mean those instrumental solos were gorgeous. Just check out the video of Would You to hear how amazing those electric guitars sounded! Or Risk It All with guitar solos at the end. It was a masterpiece in my opinion… And they’re really talkative! I mean the playlist lasts 1 hour 5 minutes while my videos give in total… About 1 hour 30 minutes! Of course it’s the time of pure music and those few conversations that I’ve recorded… I mean there were more!
The show was so suspiciously good that it made me wonder – is it possible that someone tipped them off that a critic is coming dressed as one of they’re fans…? I guess I will never know!
The worst what happened to me last night was standing in the cold shivering to my bones for an hour though I arrived at the time of opening doors. I missed the first support and the half of the second though I was in fact there. It wasn’t my first show and I’m speechless because it never happened to me before. So many people may be sick today and supports were playing for the almost empty room because everybody were waiting in the queue on the outside. The next time organizers need to check bags and tickets faster, create two queues or open doors earlier. And I’m devastated because I had to throw away the bottle with sparkling water. In other places all I needed to do was to throw away the cap. For the first time in my life I saw probably four situations of people fainting just last night. This is not the care of health but for money because bottles that you can buy in clubs are exactly the same but much more expensive. I had my own water for 0,99 PLN last night while in Cracow I bought the similar bottle in the club for 6 PLN. I guess these numbers say everything.
So, I can give organizers -10 points while The Vamps deserve 10. That’s all I can say.
You can watch the whole show below. I will be adding here all 14 videos that I’ve taken but it may take even few days… I mean it’s the playlist that will be updated in the nearest future!
Also, here is the playlist with songs that were performed:
Update. The video where I talk about the show is available now. Watch it clicking below:
So, that’s it! The next post is coming on Thursday and it’s going to be about Riverdale. But unfortunately it’s possible that it appears later…
Greetings!
