Hello! Today I have a little post about the exposition that I saw yesterday. The title of this blog post is the title of this exposition. I saw this on the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland. Read this post to find out more, and see some of the photos that I’ve taken.
This exposition was placed in the Royal Library that is the only part of the castle that survived the war, and all architectonic elements are original from the time of the last Polish king’s reign – Stanisław August Poniatowski (18th century).
When it comes to the exposition, it all that happened to escape the communism when this kind of art was an enemy. And all these sculptures and paintings come from private collections made by aristocratic houses connected to Lviv. And it was all created in 16th-20th century. I will say few words about the most interesting works of art.
There were such sculptures are as high as real people, but shapes of them make them a bit surreal…
There was also this kind of art that looks better from afar… But I absolutely loved it. One of them was painted in 1820-1829 and other three almost 100 years later because in 30s…
Or metaphorical kind of paintings… Allegorical ones… And still life. The most you look at it, the more details you start to notice… Yeah, that’s what more you could find there!
Now few names! Wojciech Kossak, Coral and Pearl Fishers by Jacopo Zucchi, the portrait of empress Sisi, January Suchodolski (one of most important romantic painters), the Battle of Vienna and the Jan III Sobieski meeting the emperor Leopold.
A funny artist’s vision now. The king Kazimierz visiting his Jewish lover Esterka. We actually don’t know if this romance has ever took place. This rumor appeared in the chronicle only once, and it happened around 200 years later…
The list of other works of art looks like this:
- Christ and the Samaritan Woman by Henryk Siemiradzki. The same painter and Rest.
- Jacek Malczewski and Christ before Pilate. The painter painted himself as a Christ…
- Jan Matejko’s children painted by him.
- Some moonlit night.
- Harenda, Zakopane and Winter Sun. Portrait of Maria Kasprowiczowa by Władysław Jarocki. Well, that’s the poet’s wife painted by their son in law.
- Self-Portrait by Andrzej Pronaszko.
- Two paintings that were painted in 60s by Roman Sielski and Margit Reich-Sielska… And this way it’s the end of exposition!

Yes, the Christmas Tree can be found in front of castle already! And yes, it was snowing yesterday before I went for this exposition, but it was already gone an hour later…
That’s all today, but let me remind you of The Christmas Sale happening in my store. Click the last picture to go there!
The next post is coming on Wednesday, and it will be about my podcast. It will be the last episode of the first month! Can you believe it how fast time flies?!
Greetings!
