Tutankhamun – The Tomb And Treasures. The Special Exposition in Warsaw

Today I want to show one of the most amazing things that you can see in life… That’s the exposition that is reconstructing the tomb that was discovered 100 years ago and today you can see it in Warsaw. But… Some things are original! And hurry if you wanna see it… It’s opened until Sunday only!

Some things never die, they just stay alive forever – and that’s what I say while listening to evermore by Taylor Swift (marjorie), one of my fav records that are perfect for writing. I feel like it’s the best way to sum up this exposition that I’m happy to show you right now.

It took me even more than two hours (this is what I was expecting) to see, read and listen to everything… The first room is the place where you can learn more about the Ancient Egypt history, about Howard Carter (the archaeologist who discovered this tomb) and there is the copy of the Rosetta Stone. You know, it’s the treasure that lead to solving the mystery of hieroglyphics.

The next room is the cinema. There is a short film that shows the moment of discovering the tomb. Yes, there are so many documentary elements but also fictional… I mean played by actors.

After that, there are three rooms that show what Lord Carnarvon and Howard Carter saw after entering the tomb.

The last part of the exposition shows the most precious treasures in true size.

The most important part of the tomb is probably the pharaoh’s sarcophagus. Four chapels put on one other… But the original sarcophagus stayed in Egypt. So, I saw the copy, but it doesn’t mean it looked worse or sth!

You could also find there such treasures like the diadem that was on the Tutankhamun’s head… Cobra and vulture heads were put in another place in the coffin… They were found in the final coffin. I mean treasures!

Science made it possible to reconstruct his appearance! And there was the very popular golden sculpture as well… Some things were real, some were copies… So, you had to read closely to know what you were looking at!

You could also see there how guts were buried…

There were also personal pharaoh’s treasures – his children. One was born after 5 months and another one died as a fetus. And hair that belonged to his grandmother.

What was original for example, you wonder…? Throne that was probably made when Tutankhamun was younger!

Did Tutankhamun have any passions? Yes. Chariot riding. And you could see that on the exposition! And learn more about things he liked… Treasures told us a whole lotta history, yes!

Furniture and Cosmetics were the last part of this exposition and this is how I’m ending this post as well. I hope you liked this journey!

The next post is coming tomorrow and I’ll talk about new musical releases then.

Greetings!
