Dear Diary,

I know I haven’t been writing for a long time, but that’s only because I was trying to do something with Joe! What is the result? He gave up on the band and movie… After the tour, he was supposed to star in a new movie… It doesn’t look good… Ah, I have no idea what to do! It’s getting worse day by day! He even grew his hair longer because Alice said he’d look good too if he kept it longer! He only lacks a beard and a cane, and he can be considered as an old man who doesn’t know what to do with himself! Seriously, I’m extremely worried… What about Alice? She doesn’t talk to me at all… I guess I should contact her and share the problem with her… The only advantage is that Joe told me what’s his biggest concern… His beloved won’t return… Oh, you would be shocked to know what I know… Now literally everything is possible! Although, I’d rather not see such “miracles”…

Well… Now let’s reminisce a bit! It’s always more pleasant than the blues of everyday life…

Two months passed since the camping, and it means that it was the beginning of October. Only two episodes left to shoot! We were working hard on the show, and to be honest, nothing special happened except the work. But the fact is, Joe was my boyfriend, and it was actually quite nice. Ever since the camping trip, I’ve been wanting to have some fun with him, I guess it’s clear what kind and it honestly scares me a bit… I don’t know how many times I’ve caught myself having such fantasies with him in the lead role… It’s a pity he didn’t want it… Ah, life!

– Laura! We invite you to the set!

Imagine me still being there in the studio. We just finished work for that day. I didn’t really know what else they wanted from me… It was Sindy’s nineteenth birthday by the way. Such a little thing…

– Laura! For heaven’s sake! Honour us with your presence!

– I’m going, I’m going!

I did as I said. I mean as I screamed! I don’t know why the director was like that. It’s obvious that I would come anyway! I walked onto the set, and it was deathly silent and dark. Well, such jokes are not funny!

– Um… Hello? Is anyone here?

Silence answered me. Okay. It was kinda scary… Suddenly I tripped over something and fell to the ground. Well, I must admit, I’ve never been so scared before… Finally, I came across Joe in the dark, and we just sat there… Yep. He’s that something that I tripped over. At some point, all the lights turned on and I saw all the people that are like a family to me. They shouted “surprise” when Sindy came over. As I said before, it was her birthday. Joe helped me up and once I was on my feet again, he kissed me on the cheek. Of course, I had to blush. After a while, the director brought a small cake with Sindy’s name on it.

– This is a cake with white, milk and dark chocolate. Just like you supposedly like the most – he said with a smile tied with his face.

– Blow out the candles but remember about a wish! – I interjected.

I walked over to the cake and thought “Bring me more life changes”. If it had been my birthday, it would’ve been my wish. After a while, the candle with the number nineteen was without the flame. Now let’s taste the chocolate! A few minutes later, my entire chosen series family was enjoying the taste of this unusual cake.

– So, what are your plans for tonight, birthday girl? – Brian asked.

I didn’t even notice him approaching. I was standing right next to Sindy. I was staring at the white roses on the cake… How cute they were…

– I’ll spend it at home watching my favourite show, why?

– Maybe the gang could come? Me, Joe, and Laura. What do you think?

– I’m saying okey-dokey! Drop by! After all, we don’t live too far away from each other.

– Okay, okay. I’m going to tell Joe – he blinked at her and walked ahead.

After putting down the empty plate, I decided to get up and go home. “Maybe Sam’s back from extracurriculars already?” – I was wondering. I waited for her at home for a while and finally went to Sindy by myself after sending a message to my sister, telling her to come over out there. Of course, I took the book with me, and it was probably a premonition that it would be useful…

I could never remember the days and hours of Samantha’s classes… What was she doing then? If I remember it well, she was going to the swimming pool twice a week and she had drawing lessons once a week… She had workshops with some painter, I don’t remember her name now… Sclerosis doesn’t hurt…

I was sitting in Sindy’s living room reading my beloved book. I was already reading the third volume. How did I know that I would need it?! Hmm… “I wonder when my sister will come…” – I kept thinking like that while reading. She wasn’t there yet… After about fifteen minutes, there was a knock on the door, and Joe entered. He took his guitar with him. I found it interesting…

– Hey there. Is Sam here? And where’s Sindy?

– Do you see her anywhere? Sindy went upstairs and she was talking to her family. They have just arrived and are going to stay for a while.

The boy looked around uncertainly. After a while, he leaned his guitar against the wall and sat next to me on the couch. By the way, he took the book from my hands. Hey, no, just not that…

– Well, we’ve got some time to ourselves.

– Hmm… What would you like to do during this free time?

The brunet’s pupils dilated, and he got closer to me.

– How about something like this?

He placed a gentle kiss on my lips.

– You know… This kind of work always suits me. Although I also really love reading…

– Who said this is the end of this hopefully favourite activity of yours? – he smiled.

Our next and more passionate kiss was interrupted by a noise. How did it sound? “Aww.” Typical… We stopped doing what we were doing, and I noticed a black-haired girl and a birthday girl standing next to her.

– Samantha! Sindy! – I hugged both with these words on my lips.

When we stopped hugging, I handed the blonde a small box. She was so busy around her family that she told me to sit down and wait for the rest of friends while she went upstairs with her parents and brother, as I mentioned earlier.

– Happy birthday!

She opened the lid curiously and what she saw totally amazed her. Earrings with two small connected golden hearts.

– Lau. It’s so beautiful – she said in awe.

– Beautiful earrings for a beautiful birthday girl – I smiled.

She couldn’t take it anymore and hugged me again. Joe, of course, was watching us all the time. Well… He’s totally a jealous one! Suddenly I heard a voice:

– Aww. I see that the family is complete – these were Brian’s words.

– Okay. And now everybody sits down because I want to sing for our birthday girl – Joe said.

He got up quickly from the couch and picked up the guitar. Everyone, including me, obediently sat down and waited for what would happen next.

– Today I’ve already sung this song during the filming, but I haven’t performed the acoustic version yet. I mean Flowers On Your Balcony is what I’ll sing now.

After a while, he performed this song, and I must admit that I was moved. “Ah, I have such a wonderful boyfriend! How I love him!” – I thought. He thought of a really beautiful gift for a birthday girl. And what was the reaction of the rest? Sam and Sindy were grinning from ear to ear and Brian was devouring jellybeans. Where the hell did he get them from?!

Sindy got up and walked over to the brunet when he finished singing for her. These are the words that came out of her mouth:

– Thank you. You make me feel like a princess. I’m really grateful. Thank you again.

– Anything for you, Sindy. That’s what friends are for.

After this short exchange of words, they hugged. I don’t think I had a reason to be jealous. I don’t know what my life would be like without this boy by my side and without a friend like this lovely blonde. It would be boring and grey without them. Ah, enough said, I just love them both! There are various kinds of love, and I love each of the four of us in a special and unusual way. Even Brian has a special place in my heart!

I walked over to Joe and hugged him too. I also whispered in his ear that he had an idea for a nice birthday present. Meanwhile, I noticed from the corner of my eye that Brian had climbed onto the couch and looked like he wanted to jump. He’d hurt himself! Oh no… Too much sugar in blood…

Me and Joe stopped hugging and the brunet pushed me against the wall just in the moment when the black-haired boy jumped.

– Geronimo! – Brian shouted.

The boy landed on the brunet, and he on his guitar completely destroying it. The black-haired boy got up and wanted to leave, but Sindy stopped him saying:

– There are no Indians here!

– How not?!

The girl took him out. “I’m sorry” was written on her face. Me and Sam walked over to Joe to help him up.

– My guitar! – he lamented.

– Oh, you’ll buy yourself a new one. The most important is that you’re okay – my sister said.

When the boy was about to stand on his own feet, great suffering appeared on his face.

– Joe? Is something hurting you? – I became interested.

– I feel a shooting pain in my calf.

We helped him sit on the couch. He straightened his aching leg, and I rolled up his leg to see if everything was okay. What I saw, totally freaked me out. It was obvious that the leg was broken… I hastily pulled down his leg and looked questioningly at my sister.

– Don’t look at me like this. We need to get Joe to the hospital as soon as possible.

– You think I don’t know that? Just who will do it? Maybe you, blighter?

– Hey, stop it! I’m sitting here with a broken leg! – the boy got a bit upset.

Ugh… He’s always right… It’s actually a good thing he meddled then because later it might be too late… More suffering… And unnecessary words…

– Okay. Now the question is how do we get you to the hospital? – I said.

– Really Laura, really? – Sam replied.

– What? Do you want to have a word fight?!

– Girls! I’m still here and I’m suffering!

Oh, how good that he was there! Because otherwise I wouldn’t trust myself! Oh yeah! Bad girl Laura! She can beat her sister! Wait… What was I thinking?! I’m not like that! I think that… We were just nervous because of this accident… Just guessing…

After a while, I quickly found a piece of pipe which I don’t know where came from, some old t-shirt, and I braced Joe’s leg like that with a little help from my sister. Somehow, we were quarrelsome and angry with each other so suddenly, but when it was necessary, we calmed down and worked side by side… Then the boy stood on another leg, and we found ourselves under his armpits and helped him go out into the hall. Sindy and Brian were there. The black-haired boy was singing, and it sounded like:

– I am no angel, but let me love you, pious woman.

Wow. I’ve never heard such high notes from a guy before… I mean falsettos… That’s how we discovered his little secret talent… Life is sometimes surprising and just… Weird.

– What do they add to these jellies? – Sam asked incredulously.

– Oh, I think nothing good… – Sindy said.

We all were staring at Brian “singing”wordlessly. Lunatic. He looked like a lunatic at that moment. I still think he’s a good and intelligent man, but then he completely flew away. That’s all I can say…

After a while, me, Sam, and Joe woke up from this trance and headed toward the exit of Sindy’s house. At the same time, the blonde led the black-haired boy to the guest room. It was a miracle he shut up… Yep… After some time, Joe was sitting in his car, and Sam decided to drive. She was the youngest of us, she didn’t have a driver’s license like most of us (I mean I’m the one who didn’t have it either; such a sarcasm), but it was surprisingly easier for her than anyone else. She had a few lessons with Dad in the summer if I remember it well. But don’t tell anyone that she was driving then, my dear diary, I hope you know why…

I sat next to the boy in the back seat and said:

– You can drive, Sam.

– Tell me something I don’t already know – she replied.

– One more word and I’ll stop being nice – I growled.

My sister theatrically rolled her eyes.

– Be quiet, both of you! You guys are acting like spoiled brats. I don’t understand what’s wrong with you today – Joe interjected.

Well, it’s good that at least one person was thinking straight… Ten minutes later we were near the hospital. My sister and I helped Joe to get into the building. “May he get out of this soon…” – I thought looking at the grey facade.

In general, we sat in the corridor for an hour waiting for Joe’s return. When he came out of the treatment room, he was on crutches and his leg was in a cast. My poor darling… The doctor followed him. After a while, I got up and asked the doctor:

– Please, tell me when you’re going to take this cast off, doctor – I pointed to the boy’s leg.

– In six weeks, the bone should heal – after these words he turned to the brunet. – After this time, please come to Dr. Kawka with your legal guardian for the removal of the cast. Remember about it, boy.

– Of course, doctor – he replied.

– Oh, and don’t overload your healthy leg. During this time, you should stay at home under the care of your girlfriend.

He looked at me smiling. Of course, I had to blush. Yep… The doctor said goodbye to us and then went away.

– So, we’re going back to your house now, aren’t we? – Sam asked.

– Yes. Let’s go, my girl – the brunet blinked at me.

I blushed. How nice to hear such things!

– How did he know we’re a couple? – I asked.

– It can be seen from a mile away – Sam said with a laugh.

Me and Joe got embarrassed. Does anyone know here how to hide the feeling?! Because I’m not an expert when it comes to such things…

We all left the hospital and went to Joe’s car. A few minutes later we found ourselves in our homes. However, I decided to go home with my boyfriend before I returned to my own, and I needed to ask how he was doing. Seriously, I’ve never had a broken limb before… I don’t know what it feels like… Unfortunately… Not that I particularly regret it… Oh alright! Never mind… I sat on the couch next to him and we started talking:

– Does it still hurt? – I pointed his leg.

– No, it doesn’t. Don’t worry about me so much.

He gave me his beautiful smile and kissed me on the cheek. I forgot to breathe for a moment. He has such deep and wonderful eyes…

– You know… I think I won’t worry anymore if you say so…

After a while we started laughing. I have no idea what got into us… When we stopped, I simply started to admire him. What a beautiful haircut he had! His hair was arranged so nicely then… And those wrinkles around the eyes that appear when he smiles sincerely… I felt like I was drifting away… When I remember the details of his face, I melt the same even today…

– Ehmm… Why are you staring at me so insistently? – he asked.

I shook myself out of this state and blushed.

– I’m sorry… – I said.

– Don’t apologize. I’m the one who should be doing it now.

I looked at him surprised. What was he talking about?!

– What?! But why? – I asked.

– Well, because today is your closest friend’s birthday, you probably wanted to spend this day differently, and I ruined everything…

– Oh Joe. Don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault that jellybeans affect Brian like this. Well, I think the day was really successful anyway. I’m sure Sindy’s happy too.

After this little monologue, I kissed the brunet on the cheek. It was easy to see that he liked it. YEAH!

– Ah, darling. Come here to me and your day will be even better.

– How modest you are – it made me place my hands on hips.

We were staring at each other for a while and burst out laughing again. Once we had calmed down a bit, I was drowning in his arms. What a wonderful warmth! We finally stopped hugging and I said:

– Wait… You have a stiffened leg for six weeks… So, the recording of the series will be suspended…

– Don’t worry. I’ll call the director, and everything will be fine.

– Okay – I looked at my watch. – Wow! I must go, it’s late.

– Okay, okay. Just come to see me tomorrow.

– Of course, my king – I blinked at the boy and giggled.

I left his house and went to my place. But I went to Samantha’s room at first, and we chatted a bit. We had a little glitch that day and we had to clear it up. After leaving her room, I went to mine. I called the birthday girl and told her about the visit to the hospital, once again I wished her all the best, I apologized to Brian (why did I feel guilty?), and after the conversation, I went to bed and fell asleep pretty quickly.

Ah, Sindy, you had a nice birthday…

This is what Sindy’s nineteenth birthday looked like. It was interesting, wasn’t it? All I can say is that now everyone is doing everything they can to make sure Brian doesn’t get jellybeans in his hands ever again. I don’t think I need to say why. Well… By the way, the next time I will tell you about the birthday of no one else but Brian. Yup!

P.S. “I’ve never said that I love you, but I really do, yeah, I really do…”

Alice’s words. What did she mean? That she didn’t manage to tell her grandfather that she loved him… Sad… In fact, she hasn’t said these words to anyone yet. Why? Because she’s afraid. Her heart is already in pieces, that’s why she’s afraid of love. People weren’t truly kind to her, so she shut down like a turtle that doesn’t come out of its shell… That’s why she ran away from Joe. Anyways, also that “accident”… Terrible things… But she probably didn’t think that she would break her own heart and his, and even ruin their lives… How do I know about it all? Clairvoyant Laura! What?! Okay, okay… The truth is, she just told me all about it. Hmm… I’m lost… On the one hand, I want Joe’s heart back, and on the other, I want him to be happy. And that’s only possible with Alice… It’s all so confusing… It’s like fighting on two fronts and hoping that everyone can win… Ah, life!
