This Saturday was special because it brought another Long Night Of Museums. I went to Polish History Museum, The Fryderyk Chopin Museum & Royal Castle. You can find these places in Warsaw, Poland.
The first place was all about the Villa Regia (private palace that belonged to Vasa house; it was completely destroyed during the Swedish Deluge) and beautiful views from the rooftop. I have never seen sth like this, and I think this photo that you can see below is the best one I have ever taken…

This golden coin was huge, and it’s still very valuable these days… Few millions! I have never seen sth like this before…
The second place were I went with my mom was The Fryderyk Chopin Museum. I have already been there before pandemic, but this place changed a lot since my first visit! I honestly recommend this place to all music lovers. And romanticism too, of course.
You can finf there the piano that was the last one on which Chopin was playing and composing in 1848-1849. It’s definitely the most valuable thing that belonged to him… And you can find it here in Warsaw, in this beautiful palace…
And I also need to say few words about the golden duck with a crown…
There is such a legend that was probably born in 18th century, and it’s about the princess-duck who asked a poor boy to spend a lot of money, but he gave his last coin to the guy in need, and this way he lost his chance to make his wishes come true… Kinda funny, right?
And this duck lived in the lake under this palace, the legend says. It’s one of my fav legends, to be honest. Because it’s a very unusual story, and it’s rather a fresh fairy tale…
Oh, and I bought one book there… About Żelazowa Wola – place where the pianist was born. I was there few years ago too!
Alright, now the last place – Royal Castle. I found the biggest queue there, and I was the most disappointed… I wanted to see Italian Views by Van Wittel, but it turned out to be closed that night, and I only saw that much…
I’m planning to go there again on Wednesday, and maybe I will be more lucky then! And I hope to buy few new books at least… I really hope so! Because the shop was closed that night too!
Btw, this castle is an absolute must-see if you don’t know yet…

So, it’s all today. Another blog post is coming on Wednesday, and it will be about the new podcast episode like always.
Love, A.A.
