Another article from the collection The Best Of… is here! And you shouldn’t be surprised that it’s about Little Mix… Really!
So, I have liked this band since their very first single Wings from 2012… I saw them growing up musically and as women since the very beginning, but I also grew up listening to them, and it will always be the music I was listening to as a teenager...
Ok, but at first let me tell you few biographical things about this band! So, they won in British X Factor in 2011. At first there were four girls – Perrie Edward, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. They released 7 albums until 2022, I mean until their last tour… During the Confetti era Jesy decided to leave the band for health reasons. After that they were performing in three… When the tour ended, they decided to take a break (but we all knew earlier), and now they all work on solo music… But you probably already noticed if you’ve been reading my posts about musical news!
Alright, now it’s time to give you the discography!
- DNA (2012)
- Salute (2013)
- Get Weird (2015)
- Glory Days (2016)
- LM5 (2018)
- Confetti (2020)
- Between Us (2021)
You can find here pop music, R&B influences and elements of rock, rap and old music vibes. Lyrically it’s girly, sexy, sassy, about self-love, heartbreak and very feminist sometimes.
And honestly, the evolution of their music seemed very honest and natural! Like nothing was forced! And honestly, Little Mix music has always been fun to me… And their vocals… Ahhh!
Well, I think I like Salute, Get Weird and Glory Days the most but Confetti is another category to me… It feels like the celebration each time I listen to it… Other albums are also full of songs I can’t imagine Little Mix without as well, so yeah… It’s worth to listen to all if you like the very special playlist that I created for you. Also, Between Us is an album with greatest hits + new tracks, celebrating 10 years of Little Mix, but I also felt like some tracks are just missing there… Yeah… You can check out my playlist here:
I recommend to treat it like the album made of three CDs with 17 and 18 songs…
So, yeah. When you check out my essentials, feel free to let me know what you think! Also, I need to know what artist should be next! Don’t be shy to drop any suggestions in comments.
Also, Perrie put out her first solo song today. It’s interesting because there are also instrumentals and a Capella vocals… Feel free to check it out here:
That’s all today! You can expect the next blog post on Monday. We will discuss Life On Other Planets then…
Love, A.A.
