Another post from the collection The Best Of…? Yes! This time it’s all about Demi Lovato, and you shouldn’t be surprised if you saw my video!
At first let me say few biographical words. Demi Lovato is an artist who got popular thanks to Camp Rock – Disney Channel film from 2008. She played there the main role right with Jonas Brothers. After that there was also few other roles and a little break when she was 18… But after the first crisis she focused on music. She needed to take one more break in 2018 (she was touring then) but after three years she came back with new music. Now it feels like she came back to roots, and she’s all about rock music again.
You can say that first two albums from the Disney era were rock, then the pop dominance came, and now she’s back to rock. You can find the discography below.
- Don’t Forget (2008) (Rock)
- Here We Go Again (2009) (Rock)
- Unbroken (2011) (Pop)
- DEMI (2013) (Rock-Pop)
- Confident (2015) (Pop)
- Tell Me You Love Me (2017) (Pop/R&B)
- Dancing With The Devil…The Art Of Starting Over (2021) (Pop)
- Holy Fvck (2022) (Rock)
- Revamped (2023) (Rock versions of old songs)
I have been Demi’s fan since Camp Rock, so I grew up with her (she was 15, I was 10), so I can say she’s funny, sensitive, she’s always had a rock core also during pop eras, and I’m really happy that she finally found happiness (she’s engaged again, but it looks real this time). She’s been through two breakdowns, and you can hear honesty in her music. But also, I truly appreciate her authenticity as an artist and human being. It’s so inspiring! She talks about things she’s been though so openly. And addiction is a terrible thing…
I have created the special playlist for you with her best music in my opinion. It starts with rock music, there are some pop songs in the middle, and then there is rock at the end again. Just like it happens to be in her discography!
Also, you can call her her or they. I simply got used to seeing her as a strong woman, but it’s important to accept and respect such a personal choice. And honestly, it’s nobody’s concern – it’s important for one’s to just feel good in their own skin.
If you want to see the moment when the idea of creating this post popped up in my head… Just watch this video again!
Today that’s all. Tomorrow I will say few words about the concert movie that will appear on Disney+ then. Yes, I’m talking about Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)! Can’t wait to see the full movie, yes!
Love, A.A.
