Do you remember Fifth Harmony? I will remind you! You have never heard about this band before? Let me tell you all about it then!
Fifth Harmony was formed in 2012 in X Factor. I remember that very well, because Demi Lovato was a judge, so I had to watch everything where she was… It was a band made of Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Normani, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane. They were called Fifth Harmony, but it took some time for them to find the same language they could sing together. I mean finding the harmony in the show. But in the end it worked out well, right? In the end nothing good ever comes easy. It’s worth to work hard, and by the way you may find friends that you’ll know forever even if you don’t work together anymore… Also, I loved those colorful performances from X Factor, and I’d been cheering for them from the very beginning…
When it comes to the genre, it’s a typical pop with a little R&B drop. And one more important note – even today this music still sounds like an actual trend. I mean, what you can hear in the radio these days isn’t too far from that.
Now let me give the discography.
- Better Together EP (2013)
- Reflection (2015)
- 7/27 (2016)
- Fifth Harmony (2017)
Better Together EP is actually available in four forms. Except this one there is also a Spanish version called Juntos EP and two more EPs with acoustic tracks in these two languages. I mean English & Spanish. The first ever hit from this band is called Miss Movin’ On, and it’s a really girly era and well… This is just how it supposed to be… I least it’s what I think…
Reflection is a debut album that brought few hits like BO$$, Worth It (feat. Kid Ink) or Sledgehammer. Girls are a little bit older, but the sound and just everything goes in a totally different way. It simply crafted the image of the band that lasted until the end.
7/27 is my fav album which I recommend to listen to fully. Honestly, no song to skip. And when it comes to hits, Work from Home (feat. Ty Dolla $ign), That’s My Girl, All In My Head (Flex) [feat. Fetty Wap] and Write On Me come from it. It’s also an era when when Camila leaves the band.
The last record was simply self titled – Fifth Harmony. It’s made of four girls, but they still sounded good together… You can find here such hits: Down (feat. Gucci Mane), He Likes That, Angel and Deliver. In 2018 they decided to go their separate ways…
I honestly love these songs and amazing voices, but I can’t help wondering now when I’m older if they honestly sang what they wanted. I feel like it should’ve been more girly and innocent for a little bit longer than it was. I mean, weren’t they a bit forced to be sexy in behavior and sound against their will? Isn’t it what some men told them to do because they wanted to make money on them? I’m just wondering…
Also, I feel like they never wanted to be in a band, but they were grateful for this opportunity anyway. If you know what I mean… They still would be a band if they wanted, but they started their solo careers in the end. But as I already said, there was so war, but friendship and the choice they all made and agreed for. But it’s all just what it seems to me… I just might be wrong, you know!
Oh and also… I feel like such little comebacks may happen in the future anyway. When something turned out to be a good things after all, and you smile thinking about past… There’s no reason not to want to meet again and sing a song or two together…
Ok, enough of philosophizing… Now it’s time to show you my playlist with their best songs in my opinion. I hope it will remind you of your old fav songs, and maybe you’ll find your new favs… This is the only reason I ever make such blog posts, you know… So, the playlist is below.
Update. There is the YT video where I talk about this post. You can see it here:
So, that’s all today, and I will come back with everyday blogging on Monday again. It will be about… Well, I have a little surprise for you… So, I won’t tell what it is right now…
Love, A.A.
