It’s ‘The Loveliest Time’ with Carly Rae Jepsen

I really love this side B of the last year The Loneliest Time by Carly Rae Jepsen so I decided to create this post today. Because it means the saddest time turned into being grateful and having the heart bursting out love not only musically…

Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian artist that got popular thanks to the talent show but I discovered her in 2012 thanks to the hit song Call Me Maybe. And I guess I’m not the only one!

When it comes to genres, I can spot such ones in her discography – folk, many types of pop and this kind of pop that is inspired by old music and this is what The Loveliest Time is in my opinion.

So, let me show you how it looks like with dates and titles now.

  1. Tug Of War (2008),
  2. Call Me Maybe EP (2012),
  3. Kiss (2012),
  4. Emotion (2015),
  5. Emotion Side B (2016),
  6. Dedicated (2019),
  7. Dedicated Side B (2020),
  8. The Loneliest Time (2022),
  9. The Loveliest Time (2023).

Honestly, I also recommend Emotion twins if you like this latest work by Carly Rae.

This new record is promoted by just one single – Shy Boy. But there are more songs which deserve noticing in my opinion: Anything To Be With You, Shadow, Psychedelic Switch (these songs are lovely lyrically and musically), Come Over and Put It To Rest (I really like instrumentals here; in the first song I hear a really nice mix of electric guitar with other sounds and the second song has a spectacular instrumentals – just sit and listen to the background sounds to see what I mean). But honestly, I recommend checking out these both twin albums. One is more like a sad rainy Autumn and the new one is like a warm Summer but both are truly amazing and they’re ones of my favorites.

Which songs do you like the most? Let me know!

So, today that’s all. The next post is coming tomorrow and it will be the last part of the throwback. And then the last post before holiday on Thursday! I mean I’ll be gone for six days… So, until the next Thursday there will be no posts.

Greetings!
